Tai Chi Chih with Kay Rydeen
September 3 @ 9:30 am – 10:30 pm
This fall we are adding T’ai Chi Chih to our weekly offerings! Kay will guide us through learning this simple form of gentle movement. Beginners welcome! We will meet every Wednesday in the upstairs studio.
T’ai Chi Chih, a moving meditation, is one form of T’ai Chi practice. It’s 19 movements and one pose are easy to learn. The purpose of the movements is to circulate and balance the energy (or CHI) within the body, affecting body, mind, and spirit. It is said to lead to good health and serenity.
Kay Rydeen received her Master of Occupational Therapy degree from Texas Woman’s University in 1982. The focus of her Master’s work was in dance and movement therapy. Following graduation, she fell in love with pediatric practice, thereafter working in pediatric community-based services and teaching at Eastern Kentucky University. Now retired from OT practice, she became an accredited teacher of T’ai Chi Chih. She is currently the Coordinator of the Minnesota T’ai Chi Chih Community. We are so grateful to have her!
