Button Making Workshop
November 3rd – 13th, Mondays and Thursdays from 6:30 – 8:30pm

The process is simple! The first week we will roll out the clay, cut into desired shapes, create textures, make designs or emboss with stamps or simple tools, add the holes and dry. Then these will be bisque fired and ready for the next class where we will add glazes (and maybe make more buttons once you find out how easy and fun it is!)
Then the buttons will go into the kiln for the final firing and be ready to sew onto your favorite garments, sweaters, or add some flair to a hat or purse.
You can come to any of the class times, plan on at least two times to finish your buttons, or come every time and really dive into this fun exploration of clay. Once you see your results and how easy it is – you won’t want to stop!
The cost is $12.00 per session, and includes ten finished buttons. If you make more, they will be $1.00 each.
We will meet twice a week for two weeks, Monday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 – 8:30 and work on creating our miniature little works of art! Making buttons out of clay is easy with a few tricks and the right tools.

Frequently Asked Questions:
– Once my buttons are finished, can they be machine washed? Best not to risk it! They should be dry cleaned or hand wash only. But smaller buttons, securely attached may be safely machine washed on a hand wash cycle. And air dried.
– What glaze colors do you have to choose from? If you can imagine it – we can make it happen! Between the glazes and underglazes, we have you covered.
– If I can only come one time, will you finish my buttons and glaze them for me? That may be an option, but we really want you to have the whole experience from start to finish but also understand busy lives.
