Let’s Make Pottery Quilt Blocks!
April 8 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
We’ll spend a little time talking about design and have examples to choose from, then we’ll create our patterns on paper. Using slabs of clay (1/4″ of course!) we’ll trace and cut our shapes, just as you would to make a quilt from fabric. We’ll add texture to the cut out pieces and plan our color scheme using the many options of glazes available in the studio.
The first class we will design and cut out our shapes, the second class will be spent glazing our pieces and talking about different options for displaying our finished designs. The pieces will be fired and ready for pick up one – two weeks after the last class.
First class will be Wednesday April 8, from 6pm – 8pm
Second class will be Wednesday April 15th from 6pm – 8pm
You don’t have to be a quilter or have pottery experience to enjoy this fun and relaxing class! When finished you can use these tiles in mosaic and grout them. Or by making holes in the corners of each piece, they can be attached with cord or wire to create a beautiful wall hanging.
